The story of the Air Max 90

The Air Max 90 was designed by Tinker Hatfield, the same designer behind the Nike Air Max 1. It launched in 1990 as a running shoe, originally under the name Air Max III, and only later became known by the year it came out. Hatfield made the Air window bigger and framed it with a bold plastic panel.

The original white and grey colorway with bright Infrared accents is still one of the most famous ever. With the waffle outsole and the thick heel, the shoe looks sportier and more muscular than its older brother.
