The story of the Nike Dunk

The Nike Dunk was introduced in 1985 as a college basketball shoe. Designer Peter Moore built it around a simple, durable leather upper and a flat rubber cupsole, and Nike released it in the team colors of American universities under the slogan Be True to Your School. That idea of one shape in endless color blocks is still the heart of the Dunk today.

After its time on the court, the Dunk found a second life with skateboarders, who liked the grip, the padding and the low price. Nike answered with its own skate line in 2002, and SB Dunks with skate shop and artist collaborations turned the model into a collector's item. How do Nike Dunks fit?

As general advice, most people take their usual sneaker size in the Dunk Low and Dunk High. The toe box is slightly narrow, so if you have wide feet, many people go half a size up. SB Dunks have a thicker tongue and a padded insole, which can make them feel a bit snugger at first; most people still take their normal size.

Women's pairs are marked (W) and kids' pairs (GS), (PS) or (TD). GS sizes go up to EU 40, so smaller adult feet often fit a GS pair too. Always check the EU size in the size selector, or come and try them on in our store in Tilburg.
